3.Research Area and Scope of Work
|
Research and development of polymer science with an ultimate goal of creating novel
catalytic materials and reactions. Applicants with a strong background in polymer chemistry,
organic chemistry, and materials chemistry will be favorably considered. In addition to the
research activities in the Macromolecular Science Research Division, the associate professor
will lead one of the clusters in the “Target Oriented Research Assembly”. The successful
applicant is expected to teach at the Graduate School of Chemical Sciences and Engineering.

The discretionary working system in the type of professional work shall be applied.

(1) Curriculum vitae including the applicant’s photo, date of birth, nationality, current
address, contact information, educational history since high school, degrees acquired, other
qualifications, and employment history
(2) Research achievements categorized into the following types: a) refereed original papers,
b) patents, c) reviews and commentaries, d) books, e) invited lectures, f) grants received, g)
research fields (within two), and h) honors received if any
(3) Brief summary of research to date (approximately 2,000 words)
(4) Plans for research and education in Institute for Catalysis (approximately 2,000 words)
(5) One recommendation letter or the names of two references with affiliation information,
telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses
(6) Three offprints or photocopies of ten representative journal publications
